Music to my ears.
First up the professionals.
Carrie Brownstein of Sleater Kinney when I shot this, now with Wild Flag.
Ian MacKaye in Texas during a Fugazi show. Personal hero of mine.
The Evens, Ian and Amy.
Now for the amateurs, Ashley Snow and Kevin Christy
Next up, Ashley Thayer! Check her out, she's also a pretty epic artist!
No idea who this is, but wow.
Backing it up.
She gave it her all, and for that I thank you.

One of many interesting things to see in the Kelvingrove Museum.
After a light rainfall at the Glasgow Necropolis.
Reflections, this one could have been better...

Strong, talented, beautiful women.
1st up one of my favorite artist, Ashley Snow Macomber. If you ever have the pleasure to see one of her exhibitions make it a must!
Next the lovely Johanna Jackson with Ashley. Yeah, they look like they've had a really good time.
If you look at my photos enough you'll see that I really like portraits. So it's only natural that I really love portrait painters, and the beautiful lady sitting next to Ashley is one of them, Rebecca Westcott.
Cheers to all of them!

I LOVE GLASGOW!!!
I think the feeling is mutual. Everyone we met, and I mean literally everyone was so warm and friendly to us. Yes, most of the people did recognize Ed but for the few who didn't they made their city seem like a home away from home. And in all honesty we were considering canceling our trip after hearing a show on NPR about Glasgow being the murder capital of Europe!!! Ed did do some further research and read all kinds of stories about the "Glasgow smile", that I don't really want to go into detail about it. If you really want to know what it is you can look it for yourself. I think after some thought we just realized that any city can have it's negative points, it's just a matter of doing a little, (or a lot) of research and being smart about your choices. We learned which areas to avoid and we did. All I can say is is that I can't wait to go back!!! And I didn't even mention all delicious vegan food there!!!!!
No ammo, just a fashion accessory.
I wish I would've taken 2 steps closer! This young woman was so nice when I stopped her for her photo. I just loved how well dress and put together she was. I blew the photo though. I think sometimes I get to excited and just spaz out on people.

Went away again,
This time I went to Barcelona, (Ed had to shoot something for the New York Times style mag travel issue!) Glasgow, (our first time, and we LOVED it!) and then London.
The photo up above is actually an old photo shot from a parking garage rooftop in downtown San Diego. I just thought it worked well for this post.
This photo of Big Ben wasn't from this trip, actually all the photos from this post were shot from a previous trip we took last November. We just dropped off our film yesterday to get developed and won't get the proof sheets back until this Friday.
I'm usually behind anyway...
Banksy did a giant reproduction of the board game Monopoly for London's version of Occupy Wall Street.
The tents and Rich "Uncle" Pennybags are there no more.
This photo would've been a 100 times better if I would of waited for a train to come along in the background. Oh well.

Hidden Valley at night. 2003
I don't even know where to start. So I'll just jump in. Back in the day Ed, Jimmy,(ESWIC head honcho) Alex Olsen, Spanky, (I think) and myself would head over to the park by our house, Hidden Valley to explore and what not. Now that I think about it I think Ed brought everyone out there to look for porn left by the homeless people who slept in there. Anyway... one night we came across a truck bed liner. I'm not sure who came up with the idea but someone thought it would make perfect sense to take it to the top of the hill and slide down in it. Never mind that it was dark, no lights except for our flashlights, trees, bushes and a kind of hole in the side of the hill that you had to miss. And I almost forgot that at the end of the hill there were branches that could hit you in the head if you didn't remain lying down. We figured that out after the first adventurers took the trip down.
These photos are of course lo-res scans from my proof sheet. The white around the corner of the photo on top is from a grease pencil.
The end of the line.
Then you have to turn around a drag the liner back up the hill.
And then after all that exhilaration and yelling of "weeeeeee!!" we end the night with a slurpee run.
