Semana Santa. Barcelona 2012

In 2012 I was lucky enough to find myself in Barcelona during Holy Week. Ed was sent out there to shoot for the New York Times T Magazine. And I being his lovely, (yes, I just called myself lovely, but I don't think he would disagree?.) assistant was sent along with him. The photos below were shot on Easter Sunday. The parade, celebrations go on all day into the night. 

This is by hands down one of my favorite times of year to visit Barcelona. Religious or not, the city is absolutely beautiful around Easter. Fingers crossed, someday I will be able to experience the Semana Santa in  Seville. I've read they do the most elaborate of celebrations.
